Eagan Badeeu (b. 1973) is a prolific Maldivian artist whose works primarily explores the Maldivian lifestyle, cultures and its vanishing traditions - viewed through a lens of nostalgia and reverence.
His painting techniques are inspired by impressionist and post-impressionist masters, and through extensive experience has continually evolved through perpetual exploration and experimentation.
Eagan first gained recognition in 2000 with an exhibition at Esjehi Gallery in Male’. He has done notable commissions for CONRAD Maldives and Hilton Maldives. Eagan has also shown internationally and has received solo exhibitions at the Maldivian National Gallery in 2008 and again in 2019. Several of Eagan’s triptychs are now part of the permanent collection at the National Art Gallery of Maldives.
